Our School

Welcome

Welcome to Team Kingsway!

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Kingsway Primary School, where the children and their learning are at the heart of everything we do. We aim to support our children throughout their school life with us in succeeding and achieving their full potential. Every decision in school is taken with this in mind.

As a school, we have developed an expanding team of highly skilled and experienced staff who work extremely hard to ensure progress for all children and take great pride in their work. They are clearly focussed on the needs of each child and committed to the development of the individual, both academically and socially.

Through our Kingsway Curriculum and enrichment activities, such as after-school clubs and residential visits, we aim to provide opportunities for our children to maximise their different talents and skills. We aim to give children a sense of confidence in their own abilities and to encourage them to be independent and responsible. To achieve this, we create a safe, caring and stimulating learning environment where our children are motivated, confident and enjoy being at school. We value our children as individuals and believe that this enables them to develop a positive self-image, self-discipline and respect for others. We believe in celebrating achievements and providing our children with happy memories of their time at Kingsway.

We are very fortunate with the location of our school, as our traditional two-storey red brick building is surrounded by a large playground and extensive sports field. The school has two large halls, a separate dining room and kitchen (school dinners are cooked on-site), a nurture room and a library. We also have a secure outdoor play facility, with a canopy, for our youngest pupils. Our most recent addition has been the development of three extra classrooms to provide addition space for our growing school.

I am extremely proud of our children's achievements and we receive great feedback whenever our children go on visits and attend events outside of school. Our children compete in a wide range of local competitions and such activities help the children to develop a strong, positive approach to teamwork.

A strong partnership between home and school is vital to our success and we encourage parents/carers to become involved in all aspects of school life. An important aspect in ensuring your child is settled and learning well at school is the support both your child and school receives from home. This supports in developing a strong home–school partnership. We believe that by working together we provide your child with the best possible opportunities.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to visit the school or have any questions.
